In addition to counselling, I also offer clinical supervision to individual counsellors and counsellors in training, as well as to groups.
I hold a Diploma in Person-Centred Counselling from Amersham & Wycombe College and I am accredited by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). Alongside being a person-centred counsellor, I am also a qualified person-centred supervisor.
In addition, I have undertaken training in various and numerous areas which include:
Bereavement & Loss
Relational counselling (couples and families)
My private practice is located in Chinnor, in Oxfordshire, close to both High Wycombe and Aylesbury in Buckinghamshire, within easy access of the M40. As well as working in private practice, I have previously undertaken work for an agency providing counselling for NHS Mental Health Staff in Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire.
I have several years' experience of working as a counsellor in both middle and secondary schools and in a number of youth agencies. For several years, I worked for Cruse Bereavement Care, both as a counsellor and supervisor. I have a particular interest in relationship counselling.
Originally, I am from Sweden but have spent the last thirty or so years living in Germany and the UK. Counselling is offered in English, Swedish and German
As a person-centred counsellor, I believe that you have the answers that you need within you, but sometimes it can be difficult to access them or to find the inner resources that are required to lead a fulfilled and balanced life.
I offer a non-judgemental, respectful and confidential environment where you can work through the particular areas of difficulty that you may experience.
I will not tell you what to do or give you advice but, together, we can journey towards a place where you feel more able to find your own way, drawing on your own resources and find an inner equilibrium and feel able to understand yourself better.
I would work with you in a non-judgemental way, respecting your autonomy, your values, your capacity for choice and your cultural context.
Sessions are confidential, which offers you the freedom to explore and talk about anything within legal limitations. The sessions last one hour and would usually be weekly for as long as you find them helpful. Together, we can work out what would suit you best.
As a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), I am bound by its Ethical Framework for Good Practice and subject to the Professional Conduct Procedure.
Having time and space to explore and look at your particular areas of concern may help you experience your life in a more satisfying, balanced and resourceful way and enable you to make the decisions you need to make.
You may experience more fulfilment in your life, improve your self esteem and confidence, improve your relationships with others, cope with what life throws at you, gain personal insight and growth and feel able to work through the feelings that cause inner conflict.
Longer sessions may be arranged.
